In 2007, Michael Willis was driving in his car thinking about his friend and his friend’s wife who were newly married and experiencing the joy and happiness of the arrival of their first baby. Being a husband and father himself, Michael understood those feelings well. His friends were beginning a new journey in life as parents, and Michael wanted to give them a unique and meaningful gift. He wanted it to be something that would combine family unity with their spirituality, something that would encourage his friend to nurture his relationship with God and with his family. Michael remembered the Bible verse from Matthew 18:20 which says, “For when two or three are gathered in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” It was one of his favorites. It reminded him how blessed he was when he gathered with his own family in prayer. He began thinking of ways that families could pray together. It was then that he thought of the Prayer Ring.

Over the next few days, he contemplated different gift ideas but could not get the concept of a prayer ring out of his mind. He decided to share the idea with his wife Kara. Michael explained to Kara the purpose of the prayer ring—each member of the family would hold onto the ring, and they would pray together in unity. They discussed the importance of family and group prayer and how it is a bonding experience, which spiritually brings people closer together and closer to God.

Kara loved the idea and as they talked, they decided that the ring should be mounted on a decorative wall plaque so it would be a visual reminder to pray when the family was not using it. Kara was very excited and wanted one for her house as well. With her creativity and artistic talent, Kara immediately began creating designs for the plaques and prototypes.

Michael and Kara decided to share their vision with Kara’s mother, step-father, sister and brother-in-law at a family gathering. The family members were intrigued by the new concept. Not only did they want one, but quickly realized that many families would benefit from this unique product and concept.

In December 2008, after a year of research and development, Heartisan Inc. was formed. It is a family owned and operated business. We are proud to manufacture and distribute a product made in the USA.

Each Prayer Ring By Heartisan™ is hand crafted in the finest quality. They are available in five different shapes and over thirty different designs and color choices. In the center of each painted wooden plaque, is a Bible verse. At this time, there are ten well-known Bible verses and two popular prayers from which to choose. The ring itself is metal and comes in two sizes and three color choices. A matching metal hook is mounted to the plaque, and the ring is placed on the hook when not in use. Customers are able to choose a design, verse, and ring color to fit their individual décor and beliefs or to give as a gift to a loved one.

The Prayer Ring is a very thoughtful and meaningful gift for any occasion including all religious holidays and celebrations, birthdays, graduations, and weddings. Each Prayer Ring can be personalized with a family or child’s name, special date such as a birth date or wedding date, or a meaningful message such as “God Bless Our Home” or “In Memory of”.
